This is a relatively easy walk along both sides of the avon from the town to the racecourse and back again. It can be muddy after the first footbridge by the main road and there is a steep climb up from the river further on. The views across the avon to the Theatre and along the banks of the Avon... 更多
An enjoyable trip but it was an extremely hot day and as it is slow going through the locks and travelling along the river we felt uncomfortable behind the glass. We shall do it again in the Autumn or spring.
A lovely walk along the River Avon, easy going as its on a level however can get a bit muddy in places. Well worth a little jaunt after a big meal! Wear the kids out - always a bonus!
Interesting circular walk along river and canal basin. Lots of wildlife to see if you look for it. Lots of canal boats and river cruises as well as the chain ferry.
We really enjoyed our walk along the Avon. Starting at the Band Stand opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the atmosphere on the park land was lovely - people picnicking, sun-bathing, walking dogs and playing, like stepping back in time for an hour or so! The path is well maintained and easy to follow, taking in lots of the river, meadows,... 更多
This place is so beautiful. It is about a mile loop from the town center, through the grounds of the church where the bard is buried and then up the other side. There are plenty of good pubs and restaurants close by,
Took Inca over to see the barges. They looked fabulous. The area was thriving. They had a festival on, loads to see and do. Nice craft fair on the town side of the river. Nice peaceful areas she could have a run round. Lovely to see the river been used and loved
We hired a motor boat from the company on the river and took a trip for an hour along the river. We took a picnic quickly bought from M&S with Prosseco ( bought plastic flutes too) and made it a lunch trip. Highly recommended, romantic and fun with some interesting property to see along the way.
