My kids love this museum almost as much as myself! I'm a big kid at heart and thoroughly enjoyed the experience with the kids. It was fun but yet educational to travel through the different cultures throughout history and we learnt some interesting facts along the way. There are mini activities for the kids to assist with learning. My favorite... 更多
There is so much to see and enjoy and old favourites (such as the Ancient Egyptian post-death experience)to revisit, that children want to go to the Museum over and over again. An added bonus is that entry is free.
An interesting mix of natural history exhibits. Good displays and opportunities ti interact and learn. Nice café and shop.

The museum was very busy with parties of school children but we escaped upstairs to the Greek and Etruscan exhibits first which are excellent. We saw some beautiful pieces. Then we went to the exhibits from Hadrian's wall which are terrific.

I had been wanting to come back to the Hancock for some years, having been a regular visitor when our children were small. So I decided to return with my 18-month old grandson. A little young to appreciate everything perhaps, but I was impressed! He loved looking at the animals most, especially the elephant, and also loved the Mouse Corner... 更多
Thank you for the great 4-star review Peter - it's wonderful to read that your grandson had an inspiring time.... 更多
We really enjoyed going here with our two younger children - the team who thought about the layout and construction of each of the exhibits should be applauded as they amaze and inform both younger and older audiences. The various interactive elements add rather than distract from the main content. The different areas work together and the provision of an... 更多

The Hancock is a free museum a few minutes walk from Newcastle City Centre. A few of the halls were closed when we visited, so for us a few hours spent there was plenty. There are two main floors which include a large exhibit based on Hadrian's Wall, a natural history section and an Egyptian section (amongst others). Whilst it's... 更多

Great place to spend a day, lots to see & do. Visited with a school trip and the workshop we attended was really good, very interactive & staff were brilliant. I didn't have time to see everything I wanted to so will be back.
Thank you for the lovely 5-star review Christine. I'm especially pleased to read that you think our staff are brilliant!... 更多
Maybe it just feels smaller because I've grown up, but the Hancock museum used to have hundreds of exhibits to look at and you could be in there literally. We managed to walk around pretty much all of it within 30 minutes. Some of the exhibitions are good, but they lack any 'wow factor'. I think they've tried to modernise... 更多
