Good house with some lovely exhibits and very informative staff who asked all the questions we had to answer. A lovely tea room is attached which serves some lovely food. The three of us got in for £13 as one is a national trust member. The only reasons this is not getting a 5 out of five, is that there... 更多
You cannot visit Lavenham and not visit the guildhall, run by the National Trust, although by the nature of the medieval building it may not be accessible for wheelchair visitors. But even from outside it is a building to marvel at. Inside, the history of Lavenham and the various roles the guildhall has fulfilled are admirably explained. And if you... 更多
One of the best museums I've ever been to. Fascinating history, well set up. Lots of hands on experiences and a beautiful garden with a coffee shop outside. Nice little room full of local artists work, too. You HAVE to visit this place if you're in the area !
There may not be any original contents left in this ancient property, but the National Trust displays give you a good feel for the various uses it has been put to over the centuries. Don't miss the exhibition in the cellar, which tells you about the history of the beautiful mediaevel town of Lavenham itself. NB. Even if you don't... 更多
Lavenham is a beautiful town with an incredible number of well kept historic Listed Buildings. The Guidehall is at the heart of the town in the Market Place. We visited with our niece from the United States for whom Lavenham was heaven! Lavenham is a unique place and the Guildhall Hall is well worth a visit.
Visited on a beautifully sunny afternoon and Lavenham appeared to be empty. However we parked easily in the High Street and walked through to the Market Place really just to get a cup of tea somewhere. We found the Guildhall and went into the tearoom. The place was empty but decided to sit outside in the little courtyard garden as... 更多
Lavenham Guildhall is the jewel of this amazingly preserved medieval town and should be a joy to explore. So, why has the National Trust allowed it to be 'dumbed down' into a cheap, tasteless 'family friendly' experience orchestrated by volunteer guides who don't (or won't) appreciate that not all visitors want to have their visit controlled and dominated? The problem... 更多
A little bit pricey (National Trust so to be expected) but a nice way to quickly find out about Lavenham's history and how it became so wealthy and managed to maintain the historic buildings over the years.
