As our annual city visit our book group chose this time Bury St. Edmunds. We booked the standard historic tour, and after delicious refreshments at the Apex we were joined by our guide Pam. She was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, and she turned our day into a complete success (including the weather). Highly recommendable!
My wife and I were most fortunate to have Martyn guide us (there were only the two of us) on a tour of Bury St Edmund on Friday 10 June 2016. Martyn was excellent. His knowledge of the town and its history kept us spell bound. He is also an accomplished historian and published author. There was never an issue... 更多
My party consisted of 38 seniors, we enjoyed delicious refreshments on arrival at the Athenaeum and found the tour guides very informative with a pleasant manner. They met us at the allotted time and divided the group into two, this was excellent as everyone was able to hear what was being said and the size of each group afforded plenty... 更多
A terrifically pleasant way to spend 2 hours on a sunny Sunday morning in Bury St Edmunds. This is the first guided walk we have done and it almost certainly won't be our last. Our guide (Dee) was professional, delightfully informative - even to locals like us - helpful and articulate and the walk was of perfect duration and rounded... 更多
The walk was Whys and Wherefores (or wwww) and was given by Steven. The walking pace enabled everyone in the group to easily keep up. The information was delivered enthusiastically and any questions were answered. The content was extremely informative and interesting and was further enhanced by the use of large photos and maps. Our guide was super, he made... 更多
We brought a coach load of seniors, interested in culture and heritage from our U3A. We started our day with coffee and delicious cakes,at the elegant Athenaeum, which was organised by the Tourist Information Centre, Then we were allocated three Blue badge guides, which was great as everyone could hear what was said. Each guide made our one and a... 更多
We arrived at Bury St Edmunds late lunchtime (before our lunch!) with the barest of information on the place (from a very old Michelin Guide). Only by chance did we see the board advertising the guided tour at 1400hrs. We took it with Steven as our guide. A good decision which completely transformed our visit in spite of heavily delaying... 更多
We always find that going on a guided walk around a town we have not previously visited really enhances our experience. The guides are always enthusiastic, informative and take you to and often in, interesting places that you are likely to miss on a casual walk round. Our visit to Bury St Edmunds was no exception. The general walk covered... 更多
