I was there when the church was closed. I wandered around and read the inscriptions on the gravestones, which are many scattered around the church. Quiet historic site. According to the stories inside there is a beautiful body, but I do not davelos hear his music.
Stoke Minster is a little forgotten Gem! Situated on the edge of the forgotten backwater of Stoke, it is opposite the Council Offices with a substantial graveyard which is split by a modern road. On our visit, we had a wonderful ad-hoc tour, given by the church warden. He was - as could be expected - incredibly knowledgeable and could... 更多

It was being recorded by Radio Stoke every detail was thought about. Prior, to the service we were asked to do a " practice" run of singing the carols which made... 更多

It's 5 mins away from the North Stafford Hotel about 15 mins walk on a fine day. Should you decide to walk to Glebe st. You will pass the Staffordshire University the onto the the bridge over the highway, might see someone fishing in the river parrel to the highway. Then take left and onto the Lord Mayors office where... 更多
A very old church with superb Potteries tiles. Well worth a visit. Also, walk in the churchyard. Stoke Minster is only a stone's throw away from a fine public house (next door to Civic Centre) which provides Fair Trade products.
I've driven past the Minster many times and had no idea what I was missing out on! I had no idea just how much history was there - from the 7th century Saxon cross in the graveyard and the remains of the old church to the Saxon baptismal font in the Minster itself. Definitely worth a visit and asking for... 更多
