Great place to walk dogs - or just walk! The ground can be quite muddy if you go off track so sensible shoes or boots or essential. Walk to the top of the castle and the views are amazing! There is a car park and toilets available.
Easy to find and well signposted from the town, a worthwhile destination if you are in the west Midlands. A historical monument, fairly much in ruins but enough left to take some great photos. A view in all directions on a clear day is worth the hike up the hill. Good information on boards all around the site trails and... 更多
If you expect long history lesson this place is not excacly what you are looking for. Not much is left after castle and information on the boards around do not have full picture of the place. Still worth to visit. Make sure to take good walking boots as it is slippery over there
Have been here so many times, not for the castle, which is not that old, the mound on which it stands is. The views from the castle are stunning, and worth the walk. Every effort by Stafford County Council have been made, with paths and picnic tables. On a sunny day it is worth a visit.
If you are on a visit near Stafford, its worth making the efford to see. Set in a beautiful grounds there are stunning views from the top. Inside the castle is a bit dull but reading the storybooks as you walk around the grounds is delightful. Fill take approx. 2 hours, the walk is tough to get to the top... 更多

One county away and we'd be paying for this...Shropshire charges lots for... 更多
Only a couple of miles from Stafford town. A visitors centre is on site and staffed by very knowledgable staff. The grounds around the castle are facinating and there are information boards spreader about telling you were the community once lived.
