Loved it from start to finish. An historic house presented in a way you can join in. Newspaper in the Morning Room to be read, radio to twiddle in the kitchen etc. Photography allowed which was nice. Boards in the rooms to give you information if you didn't want to buy a guidebook. We arrived just after a coach load... 更多
Worth a visit, like all NT properties, however, not a particularly inspiring building nor convincingly furnished as a grand house. As many NT properties the best part are the gardens....well maintained and beautiful flowers.
Came here last Thursday with my boyfriend and spent a few lovely hours walking around the castle and it's grounds. The outdoor walks are not suitable for those who are less able I found as the route we took had lots of steep inclines, steps and uneven ground. However if you can get past that I would suggest going round... 更多
It is several years since we last visited here. It is well worth visiting. There is plenty of parking. The views are amazing looking across the Bristol Channel from the upstairs Windows. A lovely day at this lovely Castle with my husband while on a short break to The Rockford Inn near Lynton, it is nice to visit a Castle that is a family home and not a ruin. Had lunch at a really nice pub The Stag in the village. Great day out.
There is a circular walk aound the castle where you can exit to Dunster village then re-enter the grounds of the castle. You don't need to pay to do this walk. To go up to the castle and The Keep is very steep, the Keep is higher than the top of the castle. Dunster village is very quaint.
We stumbled over Dunster Castle whilst exploring the area and just had to pay a visit! The grounds are beautiful and the castle is fantastic, very knowledgeable staff complete the history and the story as you explore. It's worth trying to get a tour as well if you can. Do take a walk down in the village as it has... 更多
Dunster Castle is a must visit, wonderful Castle and the grounds and gardens with wonderful views out to the sea. The Water Mill is worth a visit the history is very interested and how it has been restored.
Dunster Castle was impressive as we approached and even more so when we visited. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the views are magnificent. There is a lot of attention to detail in the rooms, especially the dining room where the table is laid for a dinner which took place in 1935 complete with the menu and place settings. The... 更多
