This statue is beautiful and really reflects our Sheffield heritage. There are other statues such as the women of steel in central Sheffield that should also be noted.
The downside is where it's located. It originally was really central next to the area near the £1 shop. Everyone saw it, children interacted with it and now this area is used...
The statue itself is not bad, a reminder of Sheffield's industrial heritage, but what a rotten location! There's a reason Sheffielders refer to Meadowhall as 'MeadowHELL'. What might be a reasonable work of art elsewhere, is transformed, here, into corporate tat.
