When you tire of the shops go outside the Orical and your walk begins. You are soon out among the trees and the toe path is nicely maintained. This is up to the right Go left and it is more industrial but you can do it as a circlular walk!!
We regularly use the canal path to walk into central reading as the kids love to feed the birds. There is a huge colony of swans that live/stay near the gasometer, there are also many other species of birds. There are a number of pubs if you want to have a sit/drink and watch the world go by. The path... 更多

I discovered this by accident when visiting Newbury and parked in the Library carpark which is adjacent to the banks of the canal, providing a recreational lung through the centre of Newbury. We live very near the canal and have walked many sections. This summer we walked along part of it from Woolhampton with our grandsons. Wild flowers out in abundance. Fascinating to watch the boats in the locks. Good pub at Woolhampton and tea rooms along canalside at Aldermaston. Very peaceful.
We travelled past miles of this beautiful canal while travelling from one place to another, it appeared so shady and peaceful. There were people walking and feeding the ducks, so picturesque, wish we had the time to laze there.
