Just visted on the off chance. Great museum, free entry, nice gardens. Over three floors, lots of room all displaying different eras, with plenty of local information. Things for the children to do as well. Nice little gift shop. I would definitely visit again.
We liked this, not just because the parking was free and it was free to go into this Museum but because it was a great museum. Notice I don't say little. It wasn't little it was a good size and had extra associated museums and exhibitions (some not free) some that we didn't even have time to go and see.... 更多
Husband and I visited on a Sunday afternoon. Entrance is FREE, but donations are welcome. It wasn't busy, so we enjoyed a peaceful, leisurely look around. There's lots of really interesting local history to be found, and plenty to engage children along the way... including dressing up, interactive displays with magnets to experiment with, dinosaur room, and lots more. There... 更多
Visited here during half term with two small children and found the place to be not too busy so had time and space to wonder round. The focus here is on local history and i was surprised by the quality of some of the exhibits - the Vikings and saxons hoards are well worth a visit. For children there is... 更多
Free to enter and with a really good collection of social history. Great photography from the air exhibit at the moment. Well worth a visit.
An interesting museum full of local artifacts and information. Well presented and easy to navigate throughout, although there are stairs and wheelchair lifts if required. Other travellers' pictures shown here provide a good taste. Pay special attention to the dinosaur garden where a unique feature from 150million years or so is presented! A lovely venue to spend a morning or... 更多
Very interesting for local people to see our history and what has been found from the past. We are going to take relatives there sometime. The café was very small and cramped.
We visited the museum at the end of our stay in Woodstock and it was an absolute treat; a comprehensive history of Oxfordshire from dinosaurs (including a display with automatons) to ancient coins to life in Victorian times to name just a few. This museum is worth a couple of hours of your time when visiting this beautiful area. The... 更多
Came to see Woodstock and there was nothing much in this little place. Heard of this museum and visited. It was really great, and we donated some money. Also went to nearby Bladon to see Churchill's resting place at st Martins church. It was worth the visit. A lovely church, quiet and peaceful.
A fantastic little museum and all the better for being free! Nice cafe, too. Interesting aspects of local life and in easily accessible form. The current (Dec 2016) exhibition by the Oxford Craft Guild should not be missed. I understand this Museum is to be expanded soon which will mean that there will be lots more to see.
