As a family we choose Whitby as a close day out trip mainly because it hasn't been overly spoiled by amusements, although there are some but not much. After a trip up to the abbey, mooch around the quaint shops below the abbey and lunch we burn off some energy in Pannett Park. Even though the museum wasn't open the... 更多
I would imagine that this park is stunning in summer, but even in winter it is worth a visit. We spent a couple of hours watching the squirrels, which were almost tame, and came up very close to us.
The park has a lovely play area for the kids and is the home of Whitby museum and art gallery. The park itself is maintained with the help of local volunteers (thank you ). Great place to relax, read your newspaper in tranquility take in the beauty of the trees and flowers and watch the antics of the squirrels.Once outside you are... 更多
Walked around Pannett Park, all be it in the rain!, as a landscape gardener I can safely say don't miss the park. So many paths and separate areas with borders, seating with various views of the gardens and the town and harbour, the art museum is at the top and well worth a visit. It must be said how clean... 更多

Lovely park - well kept and there is also a lovely childrens play area which is tidy and clean. Perfect to let the kids burn off some energy.
Whether you want to play in the awesome children's park or take a pleasant stroll Pannett Park is a haven of clever design and thoughtful planning. It's somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy town centre to enjoy a picnic lunch, then let the little ones burn it off in the play area.
