We tried to visit the hall but were astounded to be told that it is always closed on Thursday and Friday !!!!! I would have thought that after the week-end visitors Monday and Tuesday would be a more suitable day to close. Another example of the rigid ways that the National Trust Operate.
A fabulous place to stroll through and the walled gardens are amazing. Great book shop and casual cafe for relaxing refreshments or a light lunch or afternoon tea.
A pleasant place to visit –for once a walled Garden was worth a stroll because of the domestic fowl being kept there. The house is the usual museum of the master’s furniture etc., but the servants section is the most interesting. Usual overpriced café with long waits because they won’t use enough staff or be more innovative in the delivery... 更多
When we first went here we of course saw the interior but since then we return regularly because it has fantastic HUGE grounds that you can walk and a wonderful walled garden and the best cream teas for miles. Lovely relaxed vibe better suited to old phogies like us than for young children Car park and entry free to NT... 更多
Nice old hall and beautiful grounds fro lots of walking also walled garden which is rather lovely also very nice courtyard for coffee and cake Grounds are free but have to pay for hall .
I visited this house a while back but I know it still is a very nice place to visit. The gardens provide superb produce for the resurant. Steeped in history and has a air of mystery like many other houses like it.

The hall itself is almost exactly as the last Squire left it, apparently most of the furniture and fittings... 更多
