We often come here to walk around the lakes. There are a variety of routes and it is good for bikes. The bluebell woods look fabulous in May. Added bonus the tea cabin where a wide variety of sandwiches, cakes and ice cream can be bought.
Took a lovely walk through Wanstead Park and saw the Bluebells in the forest.... stunning! .... Had a cup of tea at the little tea room too which was gorgeous just sitting outside looking out over the pond. Worth a visit for some tranquility.
This park is what is left from a majestic country residence and gardens. The hose is long gone and the gardens are not well maintained, and at the moment the pond is too low. On the positive side there are kingfishes, woodpeckers, loads of other fauna and flora.
