We often come here to walk around the lakes. There are a variety of routes and it is good for bikes. The bluebell woods look fabulous in May. Added bonus the tea cabin where a wide variety of sandwiches, cakes and ice cream can be bought.
Took a lovely walk through Wanstead Park and saw the Bluebells in the forest.... stunning! .... Had a cup of tea at the little tea room too which was gorgeous just sitting outside looking out over the pond. Worth a visit for some tranquility.
This park is what is left from a majestic country residence and gardens. The hose is long gone and the gardens are not well maintained, and at the moment the pond is too low. On the positive side there are kingfishes, woodpeckers, loads of other fauna and flora.
There are Lovely lakes and walks here but it can get a bit busy at weekends if the weather is fair. Get away from it all and some air in your lungs! Free too! Put the phone away! LOL
Absolutely beautiful park. You wouldn't think it's in London. It's away from the hustle and bustle, it's clean and stunning views around the reservoir. In the summer months it doesn't get as busy as you might expect. It's a hidden gem.
We walked to this park, which is part of Epping Forest, from the nearby overground station and found miles of pathway criss crossing and encompassing open grass land, wooded areas, and lakes. Lovely mainly wild park offering peace and quiet in East London. Particularly beautiful when the native bluebells are in bloom.
