This building is blah. Nothing distinguished about it. The large expanse of Horse Guards Parade behind it is worth visiting simply for the open space it provides behind Whitehall (and 10 Downing Street to the south) and adjacent to St. James's Park. This is an impressive edifice located in the centre of London located between Whitehall and Horse Guard's Parade. There are displays of cavalry at certain times of the day.
Most visitors come here to look at the mounted and other sentries at the Whitehall end of the courtyard, to walk through the courtyard between Whitehall and Horse Guards Parade (which leads into St. James's Park) and/or view the 'Changing of the Guard' ceremony there which is not as crowded with viewers as the 'other' one at Buckingham Palace and... 更多
We walked past and spent some time looking at the guards outside, we walked in to the courtyard where the police started moving people back as it was time for the guard to change. The new horses were lead out and by their riders and we were lucky enough to be on the front row as the horse went past... 更多
Very busy in Whitehall today with the new PM moving into 10 Downing Street so had a look around the horse guards building on Whitehall. Great little museum full.of horse history and leading out onto horse guards parade. Well worth a visit allow about 90 mins and only £5 admission
