Just a great place to visit and so much history there. Well worth the visit. Buy the guide book and follow the numbers for each piece of information. Spent a very worthwhile 3 hours there.
The tall spires dominated the sky line for miles around. Up close the size is just breath taking. The skill of the resident 25 craftsmen can be seen in and around the building. The awe inspiring size and scale must be witnessed so as to believe its mighty size. The armed forces chapels and the Chapter House are especially very... 更多
Like all Medieval cathedrals Lincoln St. Mary does not disappoint. We took our visit in on a joint ticket with the castle which is nearby. Both places were great to look round and the pair were very good value for the ticket price with the bonus that you are supporting the upkeep of these impressive buildings with your loot. The... 更多
I believe there is an entrance fee but this seemed to be waivered during our Sunday visit. Perhaps due to the fact that it coincided with a service. Not quite St Pauls in its internal decoration however you can't fail to be impressed by the sheer scale of this cathedral. So big it makes me wonder if it has ever... 更多
Superb location at the top of Steep Hill which can easily be combined with a visit to the Castle and much more. It is surely one of the best cathedrals in Europe from the outside and the interior is full of wonderful craftsmanship and historical interest. Housed in the building is a superb exhibition of recent wood carvings illustrating the... 更多
Beautiful building with lovely peaceful atmosphere. Wander around and wonder at the skill and artistry which is apparent in all areas of this cathedral.
We went to a wedding here. Majestic is a word that does not give it justice. Awe inspiring is probably a better word. Seeing it lit up at night is worth waiting for.
A large and very impressive gothic cathedral and bit of a confusion of styles but holds together very well as a harmonious whole. Particular impressive because it already pretty high up on a hill so can be seen from miles around. Recommend going up the tower
Stunning inside and out! Good value entrance fee too especially when combined with a castle ticket. Excellent photo opportunities to remember you visit!
We got joint concessions tickets for the cathedral and castle for £13 - great value. The cathedral is beautiful, lots to see. My favourite was the wooden Stations of the Cross.we went to evensong with the choir singing. All in all a wonderful experience.
Having decided the town of Lincoln itself wasn't particularly exceptional (legging it up that huge hill is worthwhile), I found Lincoln Cathedral to be unexpectedly awesome. I highly recommend a roof tour if you're into history and want to know all about it, and the Tower tour if you're mostly just after the view. If you're into ducking behind pillars... 更多
