Easy to park and a short walk to the top of the henge, which was interesting. Had to do this one on my own as Mr had to stay with our canine travelling companion. No dogs allowed on site.
There is not much to see here, just a massive bank of stones with a large "amphitheatre" - and only one remaining stone. However, archaeologically important. I was quite impressed with the size of it!

Not sure what exactly I was expecting, but not what I found. What blew me away was trying to figure out not only why, but how on earth they did it. The work and effort involved to produce something so massive, transporting and stacking all those stones, would have been immense. It was beyond imagining, but for all that effort,... 更多
A steep bank surrounds the henge, and sadly only one standing stone remains. How responsible the sheep are for the others' demise is anyone's guess. A large circular path, which is tricky to walk around, affords great views. Great place to visit. A bit steep to walk round but amazing history. Great to stand and think about what had happened in the area. Out of the way but worth finding it.
