A beautiful walk alongside the Eden river but due to last winters floods I can only recommend for the sure footed as some of the pathes have washed away . This is from the downstream approach to the caves and may be different from the upstream approach.
We visited here on Sunday, quite hard to find as not well signposted, the walk was very nerve wrecking due to erosion of the riverbanks from the floods, and the caves are so close to the edge, I wouldn't feel comfortable in taking my son there. Worth a visit if you don't mind a walk and like exploring. The recent floods have made some of the path tricky but if careful, there is no problem. We walked along specifically to see them its a nice walk and there lovely to see in the rocks, Kids would love a scramble along here im sure but some places are a little scary with narrow banks and steep drops!
