Went today and was a little disappointed. Some of the exhibitions had lighting missing, needed grass cutting properly around exhibits and on the banks and a badly needed a tidy up. If it wasn't for the cars then I would have been even more disappointed. Sorry guys but this is history and should be treated better.
If you want to go out for a day and don't know where to go, then go to Fort Paull because everyone will enjoy it. They have different things to learn about all around the site and sometimes have reenactments on so keep an eye out for those because they are always brilliant to watch. Would definitely come here again.
This Fort has developed well over the years with good static exhibits and tableaux. Good model displays, for me,topped off by the Blackburn Beverley. Seemingly run by a team of great enthusiasts who appear to be restricted by planning constraints.Without them,no doubt the site would be an overgrown wilderness. Interesting for adults, children are catered for with a good play area.
I live locally and admission is free. I only have visited once this year and have the same opinions as another reviewer. The place really does need tidying up. The ladies toilets didn't have any working basins to wash your hands in. The place itself is a hidden gem and has lots of interesting information. As another reviewer mentioned a... 更多
Not a great place to go with young children or the elderly as there is a lot of steps and it's very slippery in the rain! Very interesting and lots to see great place for a family with children aged 5 onwards. Lots to see and great set ups could do with more facilities etc but very good afternoon :)
This was our second visit to Fort Paull, and we went on the Pirates weekend event in august 2016. Fort Paull is an historic site and has many displays that record the site's history, although a lot of it is looking damp and a bit bedraggled, with nothing interactive or attention-grabbing as there are in more modern museums. However, you... 更多
Visited on Bank Holiday Monday. Two elderly Gentleman at entrance to the car park were very friendly but this is were it stopped. Entered the site and spoke to the chap who took the money and he never cracked his face and muttered "Ta" when we handed over £25 for a family of four, his hands and nails were filthy,... 更多
I loved this site. The Blackburn Beverly is one of my favourite aircraft. They have the only remaining one. Don't expect glitz and glamour; this is a very old site. I consider it well worth a visit. The lady on the desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. Plenty to see. Recommended.
Attended yesterday with the family - on the way in were treated to a lecture by the lady in the shop who told us they can't do anything about the place as its grade 1 listed.... Total rubbish they appear to be keeping St Pauls in a reasonable condition.. The whole place is either mouldy / damp / peeling or... 更多
Actually enjoyed my 3 hours spent at Fort Paull. A very interesting place with lots to see that is unfortunately not reaching its full potential. A lot of it is very dirty and unkempt, whilst I appreciate this is a listed building a bit of elbow grease and polish, a good clean up would do it no harm. The exhibits... 更多
