Good little museum to have a look around for half hour or so. Lots of infomation about the local wildlife, my children loved the replica of the bird watching area. The bees are fascinating to watch (and listen to!!) There's a big activity room for children that could probably do with a few more activities in but still plenty for... 更多
This is a small little museum, with lots of stuffed animals, plus a bit of history of how dinosaurs come about, plus the bees are fascinating to watch. The museum takes about an hour or so to go around. There is a nice play room for children with some activities for little ones. There is no cost to the museum.
I found the Museum an interesting little place. It has a good collection of stuffed animals and birds, and lots of other artifacts of interest. There is a good display that shows the geology of the local area and, how the landscape was formed over millions of years.Upstairs there are rocks and fossils found locally and all of this would... 更多
If you're interested in the natural world this is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. It's small but what's there is very interesting. There are fossil and rock displays as well as animals from all around the world, and I love that there are displays about local wildlife and nature reserves. The glass beehive is great, fascinating... 更多
I suggested a visit to my partner recently when funds were a little low as its free and by the beach for a nice walk after, The taxidermy exhibitions are all really old and been there since I was young but the new beehive is very good, Although there were no butterflies hatched when I went along this too would... 更多
This lovely bright little museum is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area or perhaps visiting the nearby canoe lake or Southsea rose garden. It's a great place for a visit with young children and there is a huge (papier mache?) dinosaur used in a Southsea carnival float which is brightly painted and fun. There is an... 更多
It's situated near nice park in really lovely building with own garden. We visit it at November - so the butterfly house was closed. The only interesting thing was the bees (there is a beehive with glass walls - but it's poorely lighted so you can't see much of the bees living inside). If you've seen The Natural History Museum... 更多
Well worth a visit. I have lived in the area for decades and never been before. an interesting collection of items and lots of information about the local area. A live beehive in a plastic covered hive was fascinating, what do they make of the visitors as they busy themselves making honey I wonder.
I visited this with my grandson .We were impressed with all the displays ,but particularly by the beehive and explanations given by the enthusiastic workers
Really nice place with friendly, informative staff but definitely for younger ages and families. Free attraction is a bonus. Quite a short visit time - not a huge amount to do.
