Great Views on a clear day over Portsmouth and to the Isle of Wight. You are right on the top of the chalk cliffs. Portsdown hill has wonderful view points all along the top. Excellent place to stop for one of Micks Monster burgers. As a local we always make a point of taking our visitors there for the food and view. Don't forget to visit the forts museum.
I always recommend this venue to people looking for something to do because I feel that you can relax and see for miles around while enjoying a monster burger from Mick's which is a unique experience on it's own!
Great views over Portsmouth and the Solent, if you are hungry then try the burger van and treat yourself to a Mick's Monster Burger and a cup of coffee.....
Look down on Portsmouth and the coast one side, cross over the road and look over the South Downs. A great place to just sit and wind back... good open space for dogs and kids to run riot. Limited parking on top off the hill but if busy slightly further down the road you can access the Armories museum parking... 更多
A number of these Fortresses that make up Palmerstone's Folly are accessible to the public. Walk around the outside of this one to get full perspective of the imposing presence they would have had.
Best place to get a good view of Portsmouth harbour and city. It's just north of Portsmouth, and even just the drive past forts and other military facilities makes it worth it.
