We walked along the hill and the view of Portsmouth is outstanding. It was a good day and we could see as far as the Isle of Wight and pick out destinations there. We like the forts and will see them another day.
There are plenty of historic forts to visit as well as fantastic views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight, Portsea Island, Hayling Island & beyond [to the left], Portchester & to the right Lee on Solent & Southampton in the distance.
A brilliant venue set over several acres with a tremendous museum to see full of canons from Mary Rose to Iraq conflicts. Many recovered from the seabed. Set in several acres, there is lots of room for the kids to blow off steam with a picnic and a very nice café/restaurant to have lunch or a cup of tea/cream tea,... 更多
Micks burger van is parked on Portsdown hill and is well worth a visit late at night. the Views are breath taking. theres a lot of classic cars and chopper bikes go there to show off their transport. My kids loved this place when they were younger. Give it a try about 10pm and grab a burger.

Plenty of parking, space to run around (for both young and old), dog friendly, and park benches to sit on. Beautiful views across Portsmouth Harbour, and on a good day, the Isle of Wight can be seen. Burger van open 24 hours and an ice cream van open March to October. To appreciate the view, it has to be personally... 更多
