Visited end of December on the way back to the ferry. Beautiful, impressive house and grounds, was fine when we arrived, but by the time we walked to the private beach the fog ruined the view. Despite this, really elegant, definitely worth a visit, would go again in the summer to appreciate the gardens.
A really nice place to visit need to spend a whole day here as there's lots to see and do great place for young children however be prepared to walk as the grounds are huge
Osborne was the place at which Queen Victoria felt most at home and at peace with her family. The tour of the house (now managed by English Heritage) gives a fascinating insight into Victoria's life both before and after Prince Albert's death. The historical material is well presented and there are plenty of volunteers around to give further information. It... 更多
Osborne house is definitely worth a visit. Plenty to see as you walk around the house and you can easily spend hours sitting in a deck chair watching the boats in the Solent from Osborne's private beach. English Heritage manage the property and as there a few EH properties on the Island it is worth becoming a member if you... 更多
One of my favourite English heritage properties. This is such a huge place with so much to see and do, the day just slipped away without us realising. Lovely house with beautiful views, lovely walks in the gardens or private beach. The food in the various cafes was excellent too. We'll definitely go back next time we're on the island.
With a 7 year old with Aspergers and a busy 2 year old I thought this place was a risk to visit but we had the best day here! So much to do, a beautiful private beach we all enjoyed with either a walk down or free minibus ride. Very interesting, we will be back!
You need a full day to really appreciate what Osborne has to offer. We went inside the house first. It is absolutely beautiful. We didn't take an official tour but wandered around at our own pace. There is a café/restaurant within the gardens but maybe we caught them on a bad day. There were no menus on the tables in... 更多
Visited Osbourne House today it is in a beautiful setting the house is very impressive from outside but once inside we were quite dissapointed at how many rooms were not open to the public but saying that the staff were very helpful and very knowledgeable about the house and it's history once outside the gardens are immaculate there is also... 更多
Osbourne House was very interesting to visit and to learn more about the family life of Queen Victoria and the dynasty of her family all round Europe. The children's small house was also appealing. One area they could improve was the mini bus service within the grounds to get around since distances were quite far. It wasn't clear where the... 更多
