this is a great place to learn about English History .Well perserved with a great center that provides the visitor with a great oppertunity to learn. Great displays of artifacts not to be missed
These are ruins, so don't expect to wander around perfect buildings, and do choose a sunny day. Then you can marvel at the amazing location an stunning sights of this ruin. It's beautiful and serene in summer and great for evocative photos. A good break from the tourists in nearby Broadway village
We had an excellent visit to the Abbey. The man operating the visitor's center was so enthusiastic and helpful! We had a great time wandering around learning more about the cistercian abbey. It's gorgeous! Try the mead and honey wine. yum!
Spotted that this English Heritage run site gave free admission to national trust members so paid a visit. The audio guide is excellent and well worth using, our visit was much more informed than just reading the info plaques. Recommend a weekday when it's very quiet to get a sense of the history.
These are largely foundation only ruins of what was a significant and important abbey, dissolved by Henry VIII. Although an English Heritage maintained site National Trust members can also gain free entry. The audio guides are adequate but don't bring the place to life and there are no real attempts to provide a significant visual display presentation. Buying or reading... 更多
Visited the Abbey while enroute to Cheltenham for a weekend away and very glad we did. The ruins above ground are lovely to walk amongst and fascinating to look at. Admittedly the signage and museum look a little tired but for me that just made the place more enjoyable to visit. Will definitely be back with a picnic basket next... 更多
We stopped here on our way out of Winchcombe. I was glad we did. It was amazing to see the sight of the old Abbey. The shop here has wheelchairs for a better experience for people not so well on their feet. They are free for the asking as there is quite a bit of walking around and it is... 更多
Spent ages here - not as immediately impressive as Tintern but a gem of extensive ruins. Do get the audio guide as it's brilliantly done and brings the whole experience to life. It's the kind of place that you just need to sit and imagine the monks of yesterday going about their business! Good shop with a knowledgable and very... 更多
