Interesting to see the house where Oliver Cromwell spent 10 years of his life. It did give an interesting insight into the way that Cromwell progressed from being a relative unknown to the most powerful figure in the land at that time. Also, some good
As I expected it to be, as you walk it immediately loses its charm, with the largest room of the home now the admissions office and gift shop. The council own this building & charge £4.50 to enter, free or a pound would be more appropriate.
Passing through Ely on a rainy day we decided to stop and seek out Oliver Cromwell's House...we are glad that we did. This above average display is interesting and informative with some imaginative additions. You get moving mannequins, a well informed audio guide and the chance to wear some silly head-gear and take selfies. The staff too are very welcoming... 更多

Audio guides are available and are well used as you move through the various rooms. The treatment is well balanced, dealing with the social issues of the time in a dispassionate way, as well as describing the household pressures on a family.
Visited this small museum today and it was worth every penny. Walk through various rooms in Oliver Cromwell's own house. With the aid of a free audio set learn about his life and then make up your decision on whether he was a hero or traitor. A fascinating place to visit together with helpful enthusiastic staff especially Matthew. Go visit... 更多
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Oliver Cromwell's House. Plenty of well presented information and excellent audio guide (included in ticket price). Join in the daily vote - Cromwell: hero or villain? - there's is evidence either way. Quite a good shop (books and moments) and delightful reception team.

Please go to Ely and visit Cromwell.s House, the guides are excellent and the information they impart make you live in the era they are describing. This is a place for the whole family to explore.
A very atmospheric experience in a beautiful hidden gem in the charming English city of Ely. Love the old world authenticity and the audio guide was comprehensive and educational. Whether you love or loathe Oliver Cromwell this is one must-see place in East Anglia.
