the house stands just a few yards from the cathedral, on the edge of a pleasant lawn and gardens that encompass the cathedral, parish church and a small row of 15th century houses. Cromwells house will take you 45 mins to an hour to walk around starting from the integral shop. Its a detailed museum and is well laid out,... 更多
We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to our House and Ely and felt both were value for money. 更多
The audio guide and the atmosphere created by sights and sounds made the visit amazing. If you love history this is a must. Use all the options given with the audio guide to get more information e.g. In the kitchen by pressing on of the coloured buttons you can hear more about the preparation of food and the ingredients available... 更多
I'm pleased you used the audio guides to their fullest and found them easy to use and informative. We believe... 更多
Couldn't not visit this place whilst visiting Ely. A) it's the Tourist Information centre but also where the Cromwell's lived for 10 years, starting with his election to power. The cost is very reasonable at less than £10 for two adults and the history of the place is incredible. The multi language audio tour units are a real bonus and... 更多
Thank you so much for your positive review - much appreciated. 更多
The staff of Oliver Cromwell’s, house in keeping with this puritanical man, apply quite tight rules concerning latest entrance times. On the day we went the house closed at five in the afternoon. Visitors are recommended to allow an hour for a trip around the house which includes watching a film. We arrived only a couple of minutes past four... 更多
We do advertise that our last admission is one hour before closing, but I do apologise if you felt you... 更多
We keep visiting this house every time we go to Ely because the visit is not long and is a hands-on experience, though we think it should be better kept.
This is a house that Cromwell owned for rather longer than he actually lived in it. There is not a great deal to see but the audio guide is quite informative and is brought alive by the context. The video on "Draining the Fens" is a well worth while added bonus.
Oliver Cromwell and Ely are inseparable and a visit to the Lord Protector's house is essential. Entrance is reasonably priced and includes a very high quality audio guide that takes the visitor through the rooms. We loved it.
This was a very informative visit. The hand held guides are great, giving enough information to paint a full picture but giving the options to select more information if your interest is piqued. For the little ones there is a dress up space with some activities. A great little place to visit and not at all expensive.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit. Lots of children enjoy the dressing up clothes as do some adults! 更多
