Bring your binoculars as you can almost see Japan. Not really but that is the next stop. Can drive to within 100 meters to unmanned Lighthouse. If weather okay a geat place for a picnic. West Coast Trail runs by the Lighthouse. Can be beautiful there with all sorts of weather.
Take a stroll or a 2.6 km walk on the Wild Pacific Trail from the Lighthouse. Great ocean viewing from here. This is an excellent place to watch storms roll in off, the open Pacific Ocean. This is located on the Wild Pacific Trail. It is an easily accessible viewpoint with a parking lot nearby. It is even wheelchair accessible. A must see for crashing surf and spectacular sea views. If you visit Long Beach on Vancouver Island you cannot miss this over one hundred year old historic site!
This focal point is one of the highlights of the Wild Pacific Trail system. Easy walking and paved for wheel chair access. Wonderful views of rough water and big waves when the weather is stormy.

When we were there, the lighthouse wasn't open to visitors. It didn;t look like it ever opens to visitors. However the walk around the lighthouse, the wild pacific trail, is fabulous and well worth doing. The views are amazing.
