We didn't have long to spend here but was impressed that the fort has been preserved. It is small and easily accessible. We didn't see the Musical Ride, but it would have been fun. An informative glimpse into the history of the present-day RCMP. The Main Street of Fort McLeod was a charming place to stroll and enjoy the vintage... 更多
The fort museum was excellent value for money and the mounted horse displays should suit all. The demonstrations and visuals were informative yet not preachy. The town also has the oldest cinema in Alberta were we watched a good film for $19 in total for 2 adults and 1 child. Ate at MacLeods restaurant on the corner. Clean lots of... 更多
Very informative of how and why the N. W. Mounted Police came into being, their long march West, why they came West and how they became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The Musical Parade with 8 horses with riders dressed as Mounties was very good. Well worth the time and effort to visit.
We came across the Fort on our road trip and decided to have a quick look. We ended up staying for a couple of hours because it was a such great family experience. The Fort was not too big and a very manageable museum experience for our kids. The little treasure hunt booklets for them were a hit and a... 更多
I took my little granddaughter to the museum . She's 6 yrs old . The scavenger hunt really helped her understand the history in a fun and interactive way . We then did the Groom a Horse program . She helped groom the horse , ( including the hooves ) got to ride around the paddock , inspected the riders... 更多
Everything in the museum was fantastic, it was just the woman at the till. I was there 2 days ago, Saturday. The woman with the red skirt was very rude to the other coworkers with her. (Two guys). She would step in front of them when they approached the till. She even told them not to touch it. You can... 更多
We were staying at a campground near here. We went and visited on our way out of town. It was very interesting to learn, and explore all the different displays they have set up. They allow pictures just no flash pictures in certain buildings. The fort is all self guided. They also have a musical ride where you get to... 更多
Staff was more interested if their phones had access to WIFI. ...never left the desk all 4 of them for the whole hour we toured the facility. Just chatted with themselves. The displayed and building were well done. My son loved the upper landing walk about.
We were staying in Fort McLeod on our way to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and decided to stop in at the fort. The Fort was the headquarters for the North West Mounted Police before they became the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. A very good museum that takes you back to the early 1900s and beyond. Full of exhibits and... 更多
