I was staying at the Skeena Spey lodge on the Skeena river in July, 2015, and our guide took us to the Kalum. Hooked several nice Chinook there.
A beautiful small river accessible from its confluence with the Skeena river.
Fly fished (spey) the Kalum (from Skeena Spey Lodge: it's the perfect access spot to reach the Kalum and it's great chinook fishery.
Skeena Spey Lodge and it's guides were fantastic, and the kalum is a beautiful, productive fishery. Would like to return there for steelhead.
The Kalum River, which joins the Skeena just west of Terrace, is a clean, clear river. It is famous for it's Spring (King) Salmon run, but also has a sizeable sockeye run.
A river (jet) boat is the best way to navigate this pristine stream, but it can also be accessed at several spots by going up the West Kalum...
