Our campsite on Blackstone Harbour was very private and offered amazing views of the bay. I just enjoyed sitting and admiring the scenery. There were very few motor boats and other canoeists/campers. We appreciated the new bear-proof food storage. But its design was somehow flawed—among other things, kids could have their fingers trapped while closing the lid. The locking mechanism... 更多
This is another beautiful area in the cottage country of Ontario. It can be the home to the rattle snake by the same name...best not seen on one of your walks.
If visiting Parry Sound area probably is because you came to visit Massasauga Provincial Park. If not, this is a "must", spend some of your time there, you won't be disappointed. It's amazing, you will feel the essence of the nature.
A bit stressful when boating if you don't know the lake because there are a lot of shallow areas and a lot of rock sticking out but once you map it, its amazing. We used Pete's marina just to put our boat in the water. To transfer all of our things to our campsites (328 and 329) we used the... 更多
We get into the park on a regular basis and anchor in to one or another quiet cove. This is some of the prettiest boating in Ontario and because there is no land access, its quiet and not ruined by street lights and the sounds of cars. There are also lots of camp sites that can be accessed by either... 更多
Brad and I camped for 3 days / 2 nights at Pete's Point Access, spot 523 and 520. We knew it would be a tough paddle to our campsite but had no idea it'd be like this. We were carrying Brad's fishing kayak, 1 canoe, 2 backpacks, 1 tote and 1 small lunch pail. When we arrived we were told... 更多
In June/July, 2016 we spent almost 2 weeks camping along Blackstone Harbour. The weather was almost perfect—very hot & dry, mostly sunny and even though the fire ban was in effect in the Parry Sound area, the park still allowed campfires. Unfortunately, our final 2 days we had two days of storms and we had to pack up and paddle... 更多
This is an interesting provincial park- we had lunch and hiked here on a beautiful sunny day! Not sure about the camping -it is very close to the highway!
We have rented a cottage in the area of the park for about 10 years now. We have boated through the many bays and channels of Georgian Bay the park encompasses. We have used the hiking trails at Wreck Island (our fav) Calhoun Lodge and Moose Island. We have checked out the wreck of the Wabano near Wreck Is. as... 更多
My wife and went camping here for 3 nights mid-July with another couple. It took 2.5 hours to paddle to site 209 from Pete's Place. No portages! We liked Pete's Place much better than the 3-Legged Lake access. There were 3 tent pads and a picnic table. There was also a thunder box which I prefer over an outhouse or... 更多
