The park is a great destination year round but during the winter there is a Festival of Lights display that makes for a fun stroll at night. It's a block from downtown Waterloo so your close to a number of other activities and restaurants if you need to warm up.
It is a nice large quiet place. You can just sit under a tree on a bench or on the grass and relax. There are people jogging or walking their dog. It is very near to the University and the restaurants around the university.

Go if you need a little time to yourself and enjoy the waterfront. You can take a nice stroll or just sit on the bench next to the watter which is my favourite.
We love to bring our two young daughters to walk around the park and visit the "remaining" animals. I remember visiting 30 years ago and seeing a wide variety of animals and it seems so exciting. Now I just walk around and look at how the city is just letting the pavilions slowly rot away. I miss being able to... 更多
