On the north West tip of the Island, beside the race track. These Old Ruins are interesting to walk around, I was imagining when it was built and how it must have been during the stormy weather. The story of the castle is interesting, not the least of which is a brief outline of the incredible engineering work that went into this building. However, not much - except for the entry arch and footing of the towers and two small accommodation rooms - remain today. Built in the 13 hundreds, captured by the French and left as a ruin. There is not much to see as a lot of it has gone, but what is left is very well preserved. If you are feeling energetic you can walk down some steps to the signal station where you can see some amazing views or the waves... 更多
We like to visit here to take photographs of Plemont Bay (great views over the cliffs) and at sunset. It's an interesting place to walk around but is better on a calm day as can get very windy up there!
This is a good spot to feel the wind in your hair. The ruins are romantic and atmospheric, and there are great views from the clifftops. It is a pretty cool bit of history. I am surprised that a castle from 1300's has parts still standing. The view of the sea is great as well. If you like history and castles this could be for you.
Great views and you can clearly see the other Channel Islands but it is a little out of the way. It's worth stopping if you are driving around the island on a sunny day.
