In south Lake Tahoe for vacation with my wife's family and her father wanted to play some hockey with the pick up group there. We went to watch. Had nice seating for us to spectate and he said he had a great time. Fun group.
Our early March trip to Truckee/Tahoe coincided with the closing of the area's outdoor rinks, much to my chagrin. Adults were $20 and kids $15 for all day. We were only able to do it for about an hour. The rink wasn't busy so that's the good thing. Kids had fun though.
If the skiing and sledding is not enough, its great to skate. Its a nice facility and a nice way to spend some time on a non-ski day. Its close to some good pubs and a good centerpiece for exploring this wonderful town.
