This is a lovely attraction and well worth a visit if you are in the local area. The castle is well maintained and the staff are friendly. The only thing we weren't keen on was the audio guides and would have preferred more information to have been available on notice boards.
This is one of the best kept castles , you can rake any aged kid here from 2 to 102 it's so fascinating. It's free to enter the castle and great for picnics or games with the kids. It's well kept and clean, for the less energetic of us you can pay a small fee and go into the keep... 更多

Have been here in the summer and watched the cricket, in the autumn and seen a wedding complete with horse and carriage and visited the castle on a rainy day. Whatever the weather it is worth a visit as parking is free, entry to the castle grounds is free and the church coffee shop is a delight. You have to pay... 更多
Real sense of history when you visit one of the oldest castles in Europe. A walk around the moat to the waters edge is a must with fantastic views over the Solent.
We're English Heritage members so I'm not sure what you have to pay for. We really enjoyed Portchester Castle - there's lots to learn about, and we went through each part of the castle with our free audio guides. The best bit is the main tower which has a wonderful wall with painting on which dates back to the 1800s.... 更多
Staff are friendly, it has free audio guides, a shop, lots of space for kids to run around as well as being educational, great afternoon out and parking is free.
As with many English Heritage properties this is quite heavily ruined. The audioguide is a good way of learning the history and extending your time at the castle. Without the audioguide the visit is a bit thin. Be sure to go to the top of the tower on a clear day - the view is fantastic. The tea shop by... 更多
Beautiful ruins of the castle. Unfortunately we arrived slightly later in the day and the shop was closed. The church was also in use but it was very peaceful and the children had lots of space to run. The tide was out so we managed to collect a few shells to!
