This is a beautiful park with lots of good rock formations and plenty of birds that will keep you very interested! The waterfalls are great as well and if you start early you can get to some of them when they're not so crowded and have a little swim. Was left a little disappointed because I went there with a... 更多
The rock formations of Chapada dos Guimaraes are impressive and the bird watching is good. Red and green macaws live the cliffs so a long lens and a refresher on how to photograph birds in flight are essential. We visited the national park with a guide. It would be impossible without a guide. One of the best views is Cidade... 更多
I would recommend that visitors to the Pantanal stay a little longer and visit the fascinating Chapada dos Guimaraes National Park. This is an area little known by Europeans but is a land of outstanding natural beauty with soaring red sandstone cliffs, isolated rock islands with vertical cliffs, many of which have never been scaled by man, amazing rock formations... 更多
One of my friend have recommended me a guide (Marcinha +55 65 9241 7582) to explore the parc of Chapada. She is an independent certified guide. I've text her the day before and she has been really responsive. Since I was traveling on a budget I didn't hire a car (which is the best option to explore the parc) but... 更多

strange formations by nature or "foreigners", the geographic center of south america, warm water river at the road, a houndred meters waterfall (véu de noiva), contact to "foreigners), marvelous nature, simply incredible. absolutely no infrastructure.
Although the entrance to the national park was a half built ruin the park itself was beautiful. The waterfalls we worth the hike and if you are idoso (over 60) they will let you drive down to closer to one of the waterfalls so you don't have as far to walk.
Chapada dos Guimaraes NP was created after much of the area had been developed for cattle ranching and farming. As a result, it is a patchwork of preserved areas of Cerrado and agricultural operations. Despite its limitations, it is well worth a visit if you are interested in the unique ecology of the area.
We stayed at the Pousada do Parque which is located very close to the park in a beautiful setting. In order to really see the park, you must have a guide, which we think is worth the money. Susan, our guide, loves to hike and became very interested in learning more about the birds when she learned we were birders.... 更多
