This river is impressive. Looks like a lake at the moment. Due to the heavy rain the past days it's very full. Not only full of water but also full of garbage of course. I know that in normal days the river looks more peaceful. But the garbage is always there.
A must see when in the city of Butuan. Hire a speedboat and see the raw beauty of this river. We've traveled around the world and been to a number of rivers as tourists and i must say, Agusan river can def hold its own. Just beautiful!
The third longest river and largest river basin in the Philippines. The headwaters of this river is found in Compostela Valley mountains and drains in Butuan Bay in Butuan City. It has twelve tributaries that runs to streams and creeks. I took a glimpse of the river in Diosdado Macapagal Suspension Bridge. The bridge serves as the fastest venue to... 更多
Definitely one of my favorite experiences in Butuan, cruising along the mighty Agusan River. Get on a speed boat, cruise downstream or upstream and end the trip on either a sapyaw or their floating restaurant with the view of Mt. Hilong-hilong and Mt. Mayapay in the distance.
Agusan River is the biggest and longest river in the Agusan Valley in which Butuan City is located. It used to be the main transportation highway of the past when only boats were available to go from Butuan to the other towns of the region. I reminds me of the stories and to movies of the Philippines that I watched as I grow up looking a the beauty of the islands and the calming nature of what is around us.... 更多
It is really amazing that more is not being done to promote tourism on the Agusan River around Butuan. Perhaps people just take the river for granted. My wife and I and some friends took a weekend "fishing" trip up river. It took a little time to locate a nice covered boat to rent for half a day. The cost... 更多
