We decided to come here because it was free with our National Parks Pass. There tons of exhibits to see in two buildings and you can walk around the property to see other blast furnaces. We went to les Forges du Saint-Maurice 45 minutes before closing time. This is a Canadian historical site. The good: Customer service out of this world. Clerk can switch between french and english easily. Documentation available. Parking area available and free. Very nice historical sites. Lots of foundations to see. Lot is huge! This is a part of the Canadian Park system so very reasonable price. There is a very well done movie with an interactive display that you should see first before you tour the buildings and grounds. Wonderful explanation of life in this part of Quebec Province in the early years of New France.
This place is a little gem hidden just north of the St. Lawrence, along the Maurice River in Trois Rivieres. The 150 year history of cast and pig iron manufacturing is well depicted in this recreated setting.
