Explore Canada's largest collection of original War of 1812 buildings and take part in year-round special events on this 43-acre site..

Built in 1793, Fort York National Historic Site is the birthplace of urban Toronto. It is best known as the location where the Battle of York came to its violent climax in 1813 during the War of 1812. The Fort served as the city's primary harbour defence between the 1790s and the 1880s, and was the home of a military garrison until the 1930s.

Today, its defensive walls enclose Canada's largest collection of original War of 1812 buildings. Every year, thousands of people visit the site to explore its fascinating history and enjoy its public programs.

Fort York is one of 10 historic sites operated by the City of Toronto. Toronto's Historic Sites engage visitors, inspire passion, challenge ideas and connect the past to the present.

We visited the new museum on this site, it was first class with excellent background to the war and great use of technology to simulate the short battle that occurred at the fort. There is a heap of items from this time in each of the buildings around the fort, a superb collection of uniforms and guns from this time.... 更多

Been here two or three times, every time with the Open Doors - to take all the pictures you want. You will find barracks and cannons, they even dress up around certain times of the year (in period pieces)....

I was staying nearby and on the spur of the moment decided to visit Fort York. I hadn't heard much about it and didn't know the history - my visit luckily coincided with several tour guides conducting special tours. Including David, one of the main tour guides who has been there for 27 years (!). He was extremely knowledgeable about... 更多

I visited Fort York this morning to learn more about the history of the colonial origins of Toronto and it was like stepping back into the early 19th century. The visit started with a video and a walk through some new galleries and then ventured out into the main fort compound where curators dressed in period costume were available to... 更多

My wife and I visited the fort early in the morning and were able to take in both the musket firing and cannon firing which were both incredible. The site itself is laid out like the fort existed in 1813 after the Americans destroyed the initial fort. There were alot of artifacts there and the staff member who led the... 更多

I felt this historical place could of been better run. First there was not clear signs where to enter. The entrance should be where you see the video and then enter the site. That way you know what you are looking at. The fort was broken up into small buildings that where not labeled clearly. The site itself was beautiful... 更多

A great day out and food for children to learn a bit of history and culture. We are from Wales UK and this was our 2nd time here. I would recommend visiting. There's tours available and volunteers dress authentically as soldiers of the time. There's currently works nearby so parking is accessible around the corner. If parking for a few... 更多

Fort York is undoubtedly one of the oldest parts of Toronto and indeed Canada but it left a bit to be desired. There's a collection of wooden buildings, some original and some reconstructed and they have a good amount of information inside about the various battles etc between the British and the Americans. Unfortunately we got a little stalled looking... 更多

While the new visitor's centre was not 100% finished, it is a very nice addition to the Old Fort. It is set off to the West, apart from the main fort area. Meanwhile in the Old Fort itself, the exhibits have been refreshed and it looks very good as always

Fort York is tucked away between the train line, the Gardiner Expressway and the ubiquitous Toronto condominiums but is a fantastic site of real historic significance. There are 30 minute tours which give a great introduction to the history of the place and are conducted by a guide wearing British army uniform from the 19th century. It was 33 degrees... 更多

皇后西街
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
