I have come to look forward to visiting Stratford at least a couple of times during the summer/fall. The plays are top notch, and the Festival Theatre is my favorite theatre. There are lovely picnic grounds located behind the theatre along the river...so we come early, snag a great parking spot, and enjoy a nice picnic lunch before a 2pm... 更多
Although still in previews, the quality of this production of The Sound of Music is second to none, both in singing and acting. We saw a matinee and there were groups of school children who were enthralled by the performance also. Don't miss it. (be prepared for 3 hours)
My wife and I went to see the musical today ,may 6th 2015 along with our senior group. The musical was excellent, though it was almost three hours. Great cast
We went to the Stratford Festival on the week end and saw the production of the Sound of Music. The performance was fabulous. We saw the Sound of Music at the Festival Theatre and loved it. Living nearby makes us take Stratford Festival for granted, but it is truly world-class. The singing was great, there isn't a bad seat at the Festival Theatre and it was truly enjoyable. I've seen a number of performances over the years and it never lets me down.... 更多

Stephanie Rothenberg, who plays Maria, has played on Broadway and has a voice practically indistinguishable from Julie Andrews`. And Anita Krause, who plays the Mother Superior, brings the house down with her powerful rendition of "Climb Every Mountain"... 更多
Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start! This is not the Julie Andrews/Christopher Plummer version of The Sound of Music we all grew up on – the version celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, and that’s not a bad thing. Stratford’s remounting of this musical classic hearkens back to the very beginning of this beloved... 更多
