It was a treat to see The Last Wife in the Studio Theatre several times this season. I sat in a different location each time and was really impressed with the natural acoustics and great sight lines. The unobstructed view afforded by the steep seating is wonderful.
This theatre was amazing and brought in 3 local schools to do 20 minute plays for the parents for free. They also had a workshop with Stratford actors in the morning for the kids. It was a wonderful experience for the school kids.
This is one of the nest place to sele a play...small and intimate and usually shows unusual, more modern plays. You are very close to the actors and emotion.....Similar to the Courthouse theater at Shaw
Apart from the air conditioning being something akin to Frigidaire and the seating configuration being totally unfriendly to people with mobility issues, I adore the Studio Theatre! I can always rely on new, powerful, and thought provoking plays to be produced in this space! I have never been disappointed yet!
We loved Possible Worlds here. The staging was creative and the material was thought provoking, although it sometimes could be perceived as a little self indulgent. The theater was comfortable and the acoustics were good. I would definitely return here again.
Delightful intimate place where I believe all in the audience could hear everything. Re this play, on exit I had difficulty saying anything to my partner re the play. Studio Theatre was O.K. But after you have seen a play in the Festival Theatre, it pales by comparison.
