We went to the gift shop in search of gifts for friends but could find very little beyond blankets and moccasins, and lots of things they are breakable so not good for going in suitcases. This cultural center is found on the Membertou First Nations land. Inside the museum is a very well done display showing the history of the Mi'kmaq people, well worth spending some time viewing if you are interested in the culture of the area. Membertou is quaint with a heritage Museum and the traffic signs were in Mi'kmaq and English. We stayed at the Hampton Inn which was newly renovated and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We got caught up at another museum so we didn't have as much time for this one as we would have liked. We did a quick walk-thru and I really enjoyed seeing the room with the teepees and canoe. We had some trouble locating the Park coming from Sydney and it seemed that most locals did not knowh the park, but located it finally by coincidence...
