This is a conglomerate of (probably) all things Gaelic, with language courses, piping and fiddling and dancing as well as your full blown kilt making workshop and store. It was here that I was told that "A man in a kilt is a man and a half" and was pressured mightilly to have a kilt hand made in one of... 更多
Visited the Gaelic College as part of the Celtic Colours festival. The great hall Is a fantastic place to review gaelic history! The gift shop is very unique and offers all things gaelic! It is right at one end of the Cabot Trail so you can tie it in while doing the trail. Must see!
Gaelic College in St. Ann’s is a Scottish Gaelic school that operates just in summer. Kilt making. Bag piping. Step dancing. And many other classes designed to help revitalize the Cape Breton culture. The culture is especially strong here because of the island’s isolation. For hundreds of year, there wasn’t even a bridge to the mainland. The visit began with... 更多
We went to the shop three times. The ladies were most helpful in pointing us to various products. They also showed us where to go to catch a noon show of the Celtic Colours.
Be sure to read their schedule and try to connect with the Ceilidhs (musical performances with traditional instruments) they have at lunch and in the evening. They also have craft demonstrations and an interesting somewhat interactive museum (an extensive series of displays outside a large hall). Try to eat lunch there, it's fun to spend time with the high spirited... 更多

The college is a great place to visit to learn about the Celtic and Gaelic history of this region. We attended two "lectures" - one of how kilts are made and another on how the cloth is made on a loom. We also had a great lunch in the dining hall.
Thanks so much for your review, and for spending some of your day with us. We love visitors! Come by... 更多
The Wednesday night Gaelic music show is fantastic. And for $10 it is a steal. This place is at Saint Anns, only 10 min drive from Baddeck. If you stay nearby, definitely go to the Wednesday night show. Check their website for the schedule.
So great to hear! Thanks for coming to our ceilidh and taking the time to let us know you enjoyed... 更多
We had a great time at the Gaelic College! The is not a very big place but still we managed to spend more than 2 hours on site. The expo in the Hall of thr clans is very interesting but the highlight is really the cultural demonstrations. We assist to 3 demonstrations: kilt, gaelic language and music. All 3 were... 更多

Very interesting workshops and displays to explore. I would highly recommend visiting as adults, or perhaps older children with an interest in Scottish culture. The lunch was good, and made us stay on campus for the early afternoon workshop and then explore the exhibits some more. Great music!
Yay! Great to hear you enjoyed your time with us! Thanks for spreading good buzz about the College. Come back... 更多
Musical events are outstanding: every lunchtime and evenings. Learn language, culture, and musical tradition from friendly and multi-talented staff.
