We hiked the section beginning in Petty Harbour and traveled south. It began with a steep climb, but then leveled off and brought us out of the forest into blueberry bushes as far as you could see. The trail is rough to begin, but further in it had been recently improved. From the trail you can see Cabot Tower on... 更多
Something for everyone along this beautiful expanse. The scenery is dramatic and varied. The weather can change in a record short time so be prepared for fog and rain to roll in- but those are some of the most beautiful moments. Never enough time here when we are able to visit.
Trails offer serene and beautiful scenic opertunities, all the while getting some good exercise. These trails are broken into several hour trips some longer and some shorter.Next year for my holidays I plan on taking a tent and walk the entire trail. I have pretty much walked most of the trails on day trips and was never disappointed.
We spent 11 days on the ECT in September covering 130 km of the route. The trail is well maintained for 90% of the portion we hiked. Although we enjoyed all the sections we hiked, we specially enjoyed the section from La Manche to Brigous South which was challenging with spectacular scenery. We used the services of the ECT Association... 更多
I have recently started knocking off each of the ECT starting with Fort Amherst to Freshwater Bay. I have made mu way to Petty Harbor so far! The scenery is amazing and the trails very well marked! I am trying to get to Cappahayden before too much snow comes! You won't regret any of the ECT hikes!
This trail covers many kilometers, over many discreet sections. I hiked the Spout path from Bay Bulls to Freshwater, the La Manche trail, and Port Kirwan to the Berry Head sea arch. All the hikes were great, but the latter the best. It was 20 kilometers, and I saw one couple the whole time. There is nothing to compare with... 更多
Look this up on google images and see how amazing it is! It is FANTASTIC, let me repeat that, FANTASTIC. Some spots are more scenic than others, as might be expected, but if you don't find it to be gorgeous in one spot, head to the next town and take the trail from there. This is worth it
Great drives along the east coast from Cape Spear down to Ferryland(as far as we got). Interesting history at Colony of Avalon at Ferryland and great scenery all along the way.
We hiked several sections of this trail and found the combination of history and natural wonder to be best expressed at La Manche. Use the road off highway 10, just to the south of the La Manche Provincial Park and park at the end to find the trailhead. Unless you have a map set, be prepared to be confused by... 更多
