A lovely drive with scenic little villages. Stops at Bay Bulls and Ferryland are a must. Roads can be quite bumpy in spots...but taking it nice and slow makes it a very pleasant drive.
Took a day trip on the Irish Loop, starting from ST. JOHN. When you look at the map it's only around 350km you think 3 to 4 hours drive but it's a Full day drive, plan for 8 to 10 hours depending on how often you stop for pictures ,food or chatting with locals. as you only average 67 km.... 更多
The Irish Loop drive takes you 300kms through an area of Newfoundland settled by Irish families. It has lots of variety and unique environments. It is a long road trip because speed limits are not high and there are some stretches of road that have lots of potholes. Plan your trip based on weather, because it's not good in the... 更多
The Irish loop on the Avalon Peninsula is an interest but also somewhat arduous drive. Driving it clockwise from St John's is a little anticlimactic. The best part is from St. John's to Portugal Cove South. The road is rough in many areas but the landscape diversity is stunning. The best part of this section is Mistaken Point at Portugal... 更多
Travelled the whole loop and found some hidden gems both on and off the loop. Worth the detour to Mistaken Point. Do the picnic at Ferryland Head Lighthouse...absolutely incredible!
We drove from St John's to placentia with a boat trip from bay bulls en route. We spent about 4 hours in the car altogether. The scenery was stunning and always changing. Watch for pot holes (there are some big ones). Highway 91 to placentia is unsealed but still a beautiful drive.
We stayed in a cottage on the Irish loop, in a place called Burnt Cove. One day we decided to drive down it, towards Ferryland and we ultimately ended up in Treppasey. The drive down was fantastic, if you like driving (you know actually turning the wheel and applying the gas and break pedals quite frequently), this is your place.... 更多
Absolutely beautiful scenery, enjoyed the whole loop. You can't say you drove the Irish loop if you didn't do the whole drive, as for gas stations there's one in every village at least there was last year, and after you pass Ferryland it is a little bit different but it's still quite beautiful and its not a view you see... 更多
I drove the Irish Loop this September and based on some other comments here I was prepared for a bumpy ride. Quite a few driver's complained about Pot Holes along the route. Now, I'm not sure where they generally drive or if the are occasional car renter's but I drive in Toronto a lot and these are a breeze. Yes,... 更多
