Nice walk through a very lush forest, and an easy trail for all ages. I anticipated that the trail would lead to a rewarding lookout, but was quite disappointed at the sight of the Rapids. Nothing special except the volume of mosquitos. If you want to pass some time outdoors, this will check the box.
Port Edward bus stops there (check with the driver) cost is two dollars. Or you can grab a cab for fifteen dollars one way,,,we split the cab with another couple so it was more affordable. It's only about ten minutes from where the cruise ship docks near cows bay. Took me (64 years old) 28 minutes to walk to the... 更多
I believe the walk in trail to Rapids is 1.8 km. We are seniors and it seemed to have a lot of hills but we easily managed. It warns to be mindful of bears and wolves. Quiet walk the day we went but it also was a rainy day. Worth the hike.
This is a fairly easy hike (I'm a 50 year old desk jockey) of 5.4 km. There are a few hills, but none so bad you have to "stop and rest". Signs explain the various rainforest flora and fauna. The rapids were not very active the day we were there, but the scenery and hike were beautiful and just what... 更多
The walk through the sponge forest on the way down to the rapids is incredible, it really is a cool weather rain forest and the amount of plant life is amazing, there's something growing on everything. The track is popular with joggers so look out! We didn't time it to see the rapids reverse but it was worth it just... 更多
What a beautifully maintained trail .My favourite sign was one that Said "Men to the left because women are always right" .Even my husband laughed and we took a picture of me in front of it.
Lovely 5 km trail...quite steep in parts but worth it. Spent an hour at Grassy Bay watching the landscape appear out of the fog. Good dry gravel path even in heavy rain and lots of information on the plants . Really lovely forest walk . Rapids are tidal so check tide tables if you want to see them at their... 更多
I made the mistake thinking I could walk from downtown to the trail; it's over 5 km each way, making about a 10 mile trek total. Once I was there, though, it was quite pleasant. The trail is well kept, a few people on it on a Monday, the lookouts are nice, the section from the Butze Lookout to Grassy... 更多
