... but would love to come back another time. Could have spent a day here. The walk wasn't too easy, but wasn't too difficult either. However, I'm not sure if it'd be as rewarding as the glaciers trail in terms of scenery.
We did this hike in mid Sept. From the parking lot go up the stairs and hike about 0.3 mi. on the paved path to the lower Angel Glacier over look. After photos, go back down about 150 feet and pick up the Cavell Meadows trail that ascents up to your right on the shoulder of rocky moraine. After about... 更多
In prior reviews/info on the trail it sounded like the road was full of pot-holes but the road was paved all the way and there was only a very small section that was not paved. We did the hike in 2 hours and it was enjoyable... it is fun to climb the higher sections of the trail to get a... 更多
We did the walk along the glacier trail first. That was easy and had great views. Then we took on this meadows trail. Whew it was tougher! Also, lots of mosquitoes. The views were nice and we saw many marmot, but I'd say if you're not up for the whole thing just walk along the rock wall (very short) to... 更多
Great hike for those that wish to see scenery, but are not sure of their physical abilities (i.e. seniors, or those not accustom to hiking more than an hour). You can hike the whole loop, or just to the toe of the glacier and still experience incredible views.
Was a few meters deep in snow and ice when I went, would love to go when the wild flowers are out. Really breathtaking scenery, I recommend going outside of regular tourist hours to really appreciate it.
Wonderful experience climbing up to the Lower viewpoint on the Cavell Meadows Trail, esp to get an awe inspiring view of the Angel Glacier
The meadows are a great place to see a high mountain alpine plants and wildlife. Stick to the trail to the glacier lake for a fairly easy walk or go up the trail into the meadows for a better chance to see some of the wildlife. At the end of the meadow trail there is a trail that leads up... 更多
The Cavell Meadows Trail is spectacular! There is a long, winding road to access this trail, but just drive it! (Trailers aren't allowed--there is a drop off point at the bottom--not sure how this works--check on it if you have a trailer). At the trailhead, there is a short trail called, "The Path of the Glacier" that is paved, offering... 更多
