We mainly walked down Whyte Ave. and popped in to some of the unique retail establishments. Coffee shops literally on every corner and food offerings from hot dog stands to fine dining and everything in between. Mid week was quiet. Parking in area difficult with construction.
We came out on a rainy Sunday for a walk about and were stumped to find parking. Once that issue was solved the area is full of interesting shops. We stopped at the farmers market which was excellent.
Spent the day walking Whyte Avenue after taking the streetcar over the river. Beautiful buildings, buskers, history, lots of shopping and great places to eat. Walked to the Farmer's Market, then back to the streetcar which took us back to North side dowtown. An awesome day. Wear comfy walking shoes and bring a camera if you love history.

When I am back in Edmonton...I really try to take in old Strathcona Market and Whyte Ave. The market changes per season and veggie crops. This is the place to go for a Saturday day trip. food, coffee, restaurants, the Princess Theatre....what more do you...Wine!!!!
Any visit to other city I always appreciate more older than newer part. So, today we visited this Old Strathcona place and we enjoyed little walk at White Avenue looking for something to eat. It's many shops around on this avenue and different choices of restaurants for different taste. We choose "Daawat" - East Indian Buffet and very much enjoyed.... 更多
Charming old section of the city with lots of small interesting shops. A bit rough around the edges but a nice break for a big city that doesn't have a lot of character!
See above - just "be" or "do" if you are feel inclined to do so. new shops with new stock in old buildings !
