I am not a golfer, so can't really rate the actual golf course, although it is beautiful! What I can tell you is that we rode around the golf course each evening to watch the beautiful elk graze there. We were there during runting season and the males were very aggressive, but we got some amazing photographs!
No we didn't play golf, but had read somewhere that taking the golf course road was a good place to spot some animals. We had been in Banff a few days and had not seen much. The drive out is really nice, with great views. We were trolling around the course when we spotted a lone Elk. Naturally we were... 更多
Actually, it's Golf Course Road that I'm reviewing but as others have found, Tripadvisor doesn't have an entry for that. We took a drive early one morning in September. The golf course is home to lots and LOTS of elk! It was rutting season, so we got some fabulous pictures of elk bugling and courting and just generally being elk.... 更多
My review is somewhat misleading...it's not about playing golf at this course but the wildlife viewing there! My trip there was during the elk rut so the course was inhabited with elk. The bull elk were bugling and rounding up the females. This mainly took place just before dusk. Earlier in the day when driving the area we came upon... 更多
Open to visitors. Beautiful and challenging Golf course, worth the money with great views. Long Pars 3 for the men but ridiculous tee boxes for the ladies (in the fairway), should be move backwards and combined with the yellow tee boxes. Maybe this is a resort course that's why the red tees are moved forward and explain the hackers are... 更多
Thank-you for sharing your experience. We have resort tees (identified with red tee blocks) we put at the beginning of... 更多
This was my first time in the Rockies...and I could not believe my eyes during the whole round. You're playing right beside huge mountains...very very cool. The Bow river flows right by a few holes too...also saw a couple of elk. This should be on the bucket list of any golfer!
We are very pleased you enjoyed a great time and experienced some of the magic in the area. 更多
This course exceeded my expectations and is as well-kept as any private country club course I have ever played. The scenery is impossible to beat and the layout of the course is fantastic. Every hole, I'd think "this has to be the prettiest hole on the course" and I'd take a picture... Until the next hole where I'd end up... 更多

There are only a few courses I've played that have this kind of scenery. Pebble of course, and Teeth of the Dog, Capilano in Vancouver. Very well maintained, fast greens. Bunker sand was a little heavy and not what you would find at a PGA Tour stop course. Fairways were wide in resort course style, but there were some challenging... 更多

This is a wonderful Stanley Thomson design from the 1920's which was renovated and returned to its original design state a decade or so ago. The scenery is beautiful, the grass is green and lush, and the wonderful old bunkers are a joy to behold. There is a lot of long grass, and natural areas to punish the wayward golfer.... 更多
Thank/you for your observations and commentary on the course. We hope to see you back again. 更多
We just played three rounds on the Stanley Thompson course as part of a six day ISAGS tournament. The conditioning was top notch and the design is stunning. Don't miss this one!
It was great having you with us and we hope to see you again in the future. 更多
