It only cost $20 pesos per person but really wasn't worth the stop. The supposed gardens are overgrown with no appeal. There are many lguanas some as big as cats! They run fast and a few came right at us which was slightly scary. The house has some historical information on the walls that was hard to read with non... 更多
After several visits to the island, I finally got to "tour" the Hacienda Mundaca grounds. It was only a couple of dollars to gain access. There was any information regarding how you should walk around to see everything. The buildings did have some old faded photos of how things used to be, but everything was written in Spanish. A map... 更多
We had been to Isla 4 times and had never come here. It is nice place to come and take a walk and see some history. I think they are building a new entrance off the other side of the park. Good place to get photos and explore in the cool shade. There must have been some kind of zoo... 更多
HM is a run-down 2 storey building of 3 rooms containing some quite interesting but very faded photos of Isla Mujeres in earlier times, but the notes all in Spanish. The 'garden' is overgrown, you have to wade through clouds of mosquitos and to be honest, I just don't think you gain anything. Sure, there are some giant iguanas, and... 更多
It is nice to go walk through the grounds for the exercise. It has some interesting structures to look at. It is not very expensive to get in, and hopefully they use that money for improved signage, etc.
If you enjoy history, it's worth a visit. A little run down, but there's cool things to see like the old structures, crocodiles, etc.
Walking around the hacienda grounds is great. Fairly well maintained, nice walking paths. The only thing lacking were informational signs. What I learned about the pirate Mundaca was on the internet. There were very few signs explaining what you were looking at. His tomb is located in the cemetery near Playa Norte, but I had to ask about it. It... 更多
I think we missed some of the grounds when we went, but we had fun wandering around, walking down the path through the stone arches and garden ruins. It was somewhat dark, quiet, and creepy but very cool to see. Don't think of it as a museum or monument - it's not. It's a bunch of old ruins which is... 更多
It's infested with iguanas but the place and the story behind it is pretty cool. I really enjoyed looking at the mansion...you can sort of picture everything.
