When I was at Chichen Itza, it was very cool. But then we could climb the pyramids. Now I have the idea that you just get to walk around them. This is one of the most amazing ruins at Chichen Itza! They were astrologers back in those days that not only did calendars but makes you wonder...what's up there. This was my favorite pick-however the walk from the entrance is about 15 min., so if your time is limited-hit it first. You wont be disapointed.
This part of Chichen Itza was my favorite part of the ruins. This area was where the oldest structures were and some of them are very well preserved.
To think the Mayans were this advanced 1200 years ago should be inspirational. Without modern tools and scopes this civilization was able to accurately chart the skies and align perfect directionally. How they did it will leave you wondering and in awe of how advanced they were over 1000 years ago.
