The entrance around 30th Street is more commercialized, with gift shops and a restaurant. This time admission was only 10 pesos. Previous visits we were charged additional for parking. We ate in the restaurant and did not receive great service. But it was a lovely place to cool off for a swim. You must pay for use of a palapa... 更多
Lago Bacalar is exquisite -- with at least seven colors -- and those colors change throughout the day and with the weather. Warm but refreshing for a fresh water swim, you can - as we did - slather and exfoliate yourself with the lakes "healing" mud. It is a worthwhile trip if you are anywhere within two hours or so... 更多
This lagoon is so so beautiful. There are several access points, the most prominent one being the town of Bacalar. I highly recommend going to swim in the lake at Cocolitos, where the water is clear as air, and it remains shallow for at least 100 meters. There also you can view the stromatolites.
Hurry and visit this location while it is still unspoiled and untouched. I feel bad writing a review as i'm afraid the place will get more and more people and lose its touch, but its beautiful.
Stayed at rancho enchanto on lake bacalar. Stunning views and as you look out from your private deck here you can see multiple colors of the lake. The only downside was reading that In November 2015, Mexico's federal environmental protection agency issued a pollution alert for Lake Bacalar as a result of illegal dumping and inadequate wastewater treatment. Corrections are... 更多
I may not have personally seen seven colors, but the colors I did see were absolutely jaw-dropping! The water was warm (Early January 2016) and crystal clear -- far better to be at this secluded, quiet lagoon than some loud and busy beach!
There are very few tourists who come here to its peaceful. We had a 1 and 3 year old and took them to balneiro on north side of town which has shallow water and lot of room to swim. Took a boat ride which we recommend its 200/adult. They take you to cenotes and at the end you have time... 更多
This large fresh water lagoon is a great place to spend the day in the water without it being saltwater. Boating, Paddleboarding, Kayaking or swimming this is the place
The lagoon is beautiful , yes .the colors are great, turquoise and blues. nice. Now, if you are going to drive down here to Bacalar you have to do something interesting other than watching the colors from shore and take good pics, otherwise after 20 minutes you are bored.
