This is one of the most emblematic buildings in downtown. Inside you will discover a restaurant/srore that is part of the mexican culture, a very nice place to explore.

AMAZING food and extremely affordable for what it is! Must stop at this place. We found out this was the very first Samborns in the entire country. An absolute must!

As several reviewers have commented the House of Tiles is in real need of a good scrubbing. We walked past the house on quite a few occasions during our stay in Mexico City and pretty much said the same thing every time: This building would really stand out and be more inviting if it were clean. We did not enter... 更多

It's pretty so you could do a walk by to check it off your list. However, it's very safe and the food isn't expensive so if you need to check your map or get your bearings, stop in for a cup of coffee. They are open til about 2am so. Other than the exterior, I don't see what the big... 更多

The recent rejuvenation of the Centro Historico and pedestrianization of Calle Madero somehow bypassed this important landmark. The once-majestic exterior is in need of a good scrubbing; its trademark blue tiles are covered with dirt and in a bad state of repair. It's still worth a quick look inside the Sanborn's restaurant for a view of the more refurbished interior... 更多

Why? The food is just ok, what is really worth going in there for is the building, it's really beautiful! You need to have a look at both of the floors and the two different exits (one to Tacuba street and the other to 5 de Mayo street). As I said, I've been there -and not only in this particular... 更多

The tiles are definitely pretty but its probably not worth stopping to eat inside. Just go through the store and restaurant to see it. Pay a couple pesos to use clean nice bathrooms if you like

I believe Trip Advisor needs to integrate these reviews under one heading. It is confusing for those attempting to review and for those looking for reviews to have them separated under different headings. I wrote a complete review, but it is listed under Sanborn's Casa de los Azulejos.
