This is a pretty church whose most interesting feature is the gold leafed Retablo or altar backdrop. So while it's not worth a visit in and of itself, if you're already making a trip to see the Valenciana mine, this church is worth a quick peek.
We stopped here briefly and it was worth it. Very picturesque. The cathedral has only one tower which is unusual for a cathedral. I don't know why, none of the brochures tell the story. You may be able to find out from one of the locals or take a guided tour. Since we didn't pay for the tour we didn't...
Impressive golden altars. This is a beautiful church not to be missed. And the views of Guanajuato from the hillside are stunning.
There are not a lot of places to park here, so it is best to taxi from town. The church is close by the La Valenciana mine and can be visited at the same time. Interesting history.
